Long time no blogging.

Is it really December?

It's hard to realize how fast the last couple of months have gone by. I had my surgery in october and after this next week it will have been 8 weeks and I should be fully healed. I've felt disorganized in my life lately and my sister introduced me to flylady.net basically this wonderful group helps you take baby steps to build habits of keeping things clean and tidy and to get yourself organized without overwhelming yourself and giving up. so far I'm stuck on day 3 but its baby steps and as long as I don't give up on myself I'm sure that this will work out for me.

Also to follow up on the free pearl offer I did at the end of september or the beginning of october receive my pair of pearl earrings. They are lovely. The only change they have made on the offer is that you now have to pay for the shipping and handling costs. Still a free pair of pearl earrings just paying for shipping is a great deal.

I've started another blog solely to write about my investing and trading. The yahoo group I started for the grasshoppers of incometrader.com's futures room has pretty much reached a slow death. none of the traders are contributing to the group anymore so the content I've written I'm putting in my new blog.

The suckiest of sucky.

Well the last 2 months have been hellish...

lets start with august...
  • ac died when i was in cali. i came home to a hot house and an angry cat(my parents failed to check up on her and the house as promissed)
  • my house was broken into when i was in Vegas, all jewelry and small electronics were stolen, as well as a few miscellaneous items and my bike :(
  • test results came back abnormal
  • roof leaked during storm
  • trading resulted in a small profit but still negative after trade fees.
september...
  • follow up appointment tests came back precancerous
  • trading classes beginning to suck
  • family drama draining...
  • cost of surgery to be 3k insurance doesn't cover me during first 6 months of coverage.
i feel really overwhelmed by expenses right now... and trading is still not going great... still up 600 for the month though... first week i was up 1k then screwed up and now i dont know what i'm doing. i feel like my confidence is shot to hell right now...

Wow! I did two days of callanetics in a row and boy do my muscles ache now! Hopefully my legs will have enough strength to hold me up in the shower! So in total I'm at six hours of callanetics tomorrow morning I'll take measurements to see if I've got any changes... The only real physical changes I've really noticed so far is that my arms are looking more toned and my waist is looking pulled in and the rear is looking more lifted...
I remember one time where my best friends mom made a comment after I lost a lot of weight after being in a major car accident when I was 16. She made a comment about how no matter how hard you workout... the butt will never be lifted and firm... haha wont it be a laugh when mine is a nice tight peach!
I'm really looking forward to the end of summer where I'm just going to look awesome in a bathing suit!

Tomorrow I shall update on how my body feels doing callanetics two days in a row... I hope I wont regret doing it... but we'll see how I feel. I may have to stick with the good intentions for everyday but only end up doing it every other day.

callanetics and bollingerband plays.

Neither subject has anything to do with the other but thats what I'm going to blog about today...

Well so far I haven't managed to do callanetics everyday, but I have managed to do callanetics every other day! which of course is a vast improvement over maybe twice a week. I'm feeling pulled in so much more in my stomach and my waist is down a half inch woo hoo! of course I knew this is where I'd lose inches first cause like they say last lb on is first lb off... which makes the saddlebags next? at least I hope... also I've gained a half inch in my arms which means more muscle cause I have fairly skinny arms and I know its not fat gain. I think I'm also noticing a lift in my rear. It doesn't seem to be resting on the back of my legs as much... Hopefully its not my imagination!
Today while listening to Trading with Cappy's trading room (subscription with Incometrader.com) he lectured about bollinger band plays. I thought i'd share with the general public a few of the tips he shared.
  • a 10 minute chart is best for these types of plays
  • on bullish days go long when the candle bounces off of the bottom bollinger band
  • on bearish days go short when the candle bounced off of the top bollinger band
  • watch for a direction change at the midline
  • its not recommended to take the plays in both bullish and bearish directions during the day
  • the trend is your friend
  • this play is successful on most trading days of the years with the exception of abnormally high volatility days.
Also a good source for information on bollinger bands is bollingerbands.com

Its been a while since I posted.

So silly me didn't remember linking my blog to myspace... so I was really surprised when my wonderful boyfriend commented that he was proud of me for wanting to do better by my body. He's also proud of me for taking the initiative to return to college full time.
This last week went by quickly. Not that anything of note really happened. I did take a quick run to California for my little cousin Haley's 5th birthday party, but nothing else major really happened. I did finally break down and got my vision checked. I'm proud to say I am legally allowed to drive without glasses! But I did get a pair of glasses and a second with polarized lenses and boy does it feel like HD!! Trading last week went ok, made a stupid trade Friday though.
So moving on to today's events....
Trading did not go well at all... I find listening to the trading room and trying to trade along with its just too distracting and I trade poorly. I took a major loss today for me and I should have stopped trading sooner. I got back into the swing of things callanetics wise. I did an hour of evolution and I love the way it makes me feel. Its intense and yet I love how its low impact and makes me feel so calm and relaxed. Its kinda a blend of pilates
, ballet, and yoga all rapped up in one wonderful package. I'm going to see how my body feels doing callanetics daily. I find that trying to do it every other day I tend to find excuses by the time the next scheduled day rolls around. I've read a few blogs/discussion forums on it and most people say to give your muscles a rest the day after the workout but I find myself wanting to do it again hours after I've done the workout...
